Event Description

We welcome the Nation to the first National Jiu Jitsu Championships to be held at the Markham Pan am Center. This event will have divisions for kids 5-15, Juvenile , Adults , and Masters. The adult divisions will contend for spots on the National team, which will be traveling to Malmo , Sweden for the JJIF World Jiu Jitsu Championships in November. ONLY athletes that have a valid Canadian Passport are able to participate in the opportunity to represent Canada. Sask BJJ Members please email ojaevents@gmail.com to register for this event.

Fees

Kids 5-17 / $50 before June 4th , $60 after
Adult & Master Men / $70 before June 4th , $85 after
Adult &Master women / $60 before June 4th , $70 after

WEIGH-INS

There will be two options for weigh ins at this event

Option 1 :weigh-ins will take place on Friday June 22nd, at the venue between 5pm until 9pm. Weigh ins are done with shorts and a tshirt, the gi is not required for this event so there will be NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCE for Adult competitors as per the JJIF rules.

Option 2 : Weigh in on the day of the event up until 1 hour before your scheduled start time.

Final Schedule will be posted on Thursday June 21st.

IMPORTANT! Each competitor only gets ONE CHANCE to make weight for their division, so please double check your registration before you hit the submit button to be sure you signed up for the correct division.

NOTE TO ALL ADULTS / MASTER / SENIOR / JUVENILE
If you don’t make weight, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED! NO EXCEPTIONS!

ALL weight classes are in Kilograms for this event.

Adult, Master and Senior weights....

Male: -56kg, -62 kg, -69kg, -77kg, -85kg, -94kg, +94kg
Female: -49kg, -55kg, -62kg, -70kg, +70kg

WEIGH-INS (Weigh-in WITH SHORTS AND A TSHIRT ONLY) a GI is not required to weigh in.

If you are the only one registered in your division we have the follow options.
1) You will be offered to move up one division.
2) For the master you can compete in the adults division.
3) If we can not find a division for you we will gladly refund you,

All kids divisions age 15 and under will follow the standard rules of the OJA for kids
